A DUI checkpoint held Friday in the 2000 block of North Texas Street in Fairfield led to 13 citations, but none for DUI, authorities said. Thirteen motorists were cited in connection with various vehicle code violations, and three received warning notices.

A Spokane Police officer suffered serious injuries this morning when his parked squad car was struck in the rear by a man later arrested for DUI. Officer Robert Boothe suffered what were described as significant but non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash, Officer Tim Moses said in a news release.

A Sparta, Ky., man has been charged with murder and DUI 1st aggravated for a 2007 fatal collision on U.S. 127 near Glencoe. The Kentucky State Police arrested and charged Matthew N. Miles Tuesday afternoon at the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office.
